When do you call a person a tourist? (travelers, visitors... etc.)

Tourists are people who travel and stay in places outside of their usual environment for not more than a consecutive year. they don't go there because they're after employment etc. it's for leisure, business trips, conventions.

Anyways.. because of this description I think i can be classified as a tourist here in school... WHY? eh pano...,
