The most expensive Porsche ever sold

A rare Porsche race car from the 1970s sold for nearly $4 million at an auction held by Bonhams and Butterfields in California in August 2010.The machine had previously been owned by the Chandon family of France and car collector Mike Amalfitano.


A 1972-73 Porsche 917 Interserie Spyder sold for $3.97 million




The most expensive personal computer ever sold at auction
Italian businessman Marco Boglione won the vintage Apple-1 motherboard and accessories at a Christie's auction in November 2010 for $219,249.
The computer, which retailed for $666 in 1976, came with a receipt from Steve Jobs, listing his parents' home as the return address. It also came with a signed letter from Jobs, saying he would answer any technical questions about the machine.











The world's most expensive tuna

A 712-pound bluefin tuna caught near the fishing town of Hokkaido, Japan, sold for nearly $400,000 at an auction at Tokyo’s Tsukiji central fish market in January 2011.The fish was split by a Hong Kong restaurant chain and upscale Tokyo sushi bar.








The most expensive tiara ever sold
An anonymous buyer purchased the historic tiara at a Sotheby's auction in May 2011.
The diamond-and-emerald confection was commissioned by German prince Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck for his second wife Katharina around 1900, and is believed to have belonged to Eugenie, wife of French Emperor Napoleon III.
