Remember

Remember
Before there was Facebook and Twitter.
Before you can google everything
Before Blackberries that let you know if the person actually read your message already or not.
Before Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars
Before Wii or X-BOX.
Before you had to decide what to actually do with your life.
Before Balenciaga, Hermes and Marni.

There was a time...
When sneakers doubled as platform shoes
When we rented Laser discs
When friends forwarded quotes to each other every morning
When 2Pac and Biggie were still alive

Way back......
When kids played kickball and kooshball and stayed outdoors
When I read books like R.L. Stine's Goose Bumps and Sweet Valley
When I would bring our tamagochi’s out and not real chiuhuahuas or yorkies in Vuitton bags.

Wait....
When caroons weren’t all about odd fairies and shouting children.
When Hey Arnold, Rugrats, The Thornberry’s and The Magic School Bus were the awesome shows we watched

Or what about
Ghost Writer and Sabrina, AAAHH!! REAL MONSTERS, Kenan & Kel, Pete and Pete, Legends of the Hidden Temple.
...

Remember
When Kool-Aid was my drink of choice?
When I'd get excited to wear our new shoes on the first day of school?
When Sketchers was what I would cry for and not YSLs?
When I couldn’t sleep on nights before class field trips
When I wasn’t broken and I’d actually look forward to Valentines
When Toys R Us was the best place to be, not Lane Crawford

Its so nice to go back to the time when....
Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'
Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'
Offenses in school just meant being put in the noisy girls list on the chalk board
It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends
A chance to attend your friends afternoon swimming party felt like winning the lottery
When leveling up in Crash Bandicoot was the hardest thing ever
When the only thing you cried over was your mom being late to pick you up or nightmares
When stress was memorizing the multiplication table and the kazilion regions of the Philippines and their agricultural products

Who would have thought you’d miss being a kid so much?
